About Michael A. Carranza, DO
Dr. Carranza is a Tampa-native and proud Florida Gator. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. He then moved to Fort Lauderdale to complete his medical training at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, FL, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He returned to the Tampa Bay area to complete his fellowship training in gastroenterology through the HCA Healthcare/USF GME Consortium.
Dr. Carranza is excited to join the Gastroenterology department at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health and serve the Wesley Chapel and North Tampa communities. He enjoys the art of medicine as much as the science, and strives to provide the highest-quality patient-centered gastrointestinal care to you and your family.
Dr. Carranza is married with two sons. When not caring for his patients, he enjoys every opportunity to be outdoors with family and friends. His favorite hobbies include hockey (Go Bolts!), hiking, canoeing, traveling, and science-fiction novels and films.
