Alexander R.D. Johnson, MD, graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After completing medical school, he joined the United States Air Force, serving on active duty in flight medicine. He returned to the Medical University of South Carolina to complete his residency and later pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular research at the Gazes Cardiac Research Institute, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the same institution.
Dr. Johnson is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the American College of Cardiology, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Additionally, he is a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal.
