About Amarilis Torres, MD

Dr. Torres was born and raised in Puerto Rico and has been in the area since 1991. She spent two years as a Major in the United States Air Force where she served as Chief of Rheumatology at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

Married with three children, Dr. Torres enjoys spending quiet time with her family and finds time with them as often as possible.

Like listen the patient without interruption and without hurry. The only bad is the patient need wait for evaluate more than 1 - 2hrs. But I wait because I don't found a professional doctor like she. I started going to Dr. Torres in 1999. I hated leaving my rheumatologist in Michigan and told my husband that staying in Florida would depend on the care I received down here. Fortunately, I found Dr. Torres, who was recommended to me by the Cleveland Clinic and my rheumatologist in Michigan.. When I speak of Dr. Torres, I always say that you can 1) find a good, knowledgeable physician; or 2) you can find a caring physician. However, with Dr. Torres and her entire staff, you get both with one swoop. She is so good in her understanding and treatment of the rheumatoid and fibromyalgia. When you're receiving her care, you feel like you're the only patient she has or is concerned about at that moment in time. I've seen a lot of doctors over the years and she is a very special lady.
