Dr. Christa Finer is an osteopathic physician, specializing in primary care with a focus on women’s health, lifestyle medicine, geriatrics, and procedures like joint and trigger-point injections.
Dr. Finer earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. She completed her residency in osteopathic family medicine at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she also served as chief resident.
Dr. Finer is licensed by the Florida Department of Health and holds memberships in the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She has published research on cardiomyopathy and muscular dystrophy and has experience in providing psychological screenings and patient assessments through a state-licensed counseling service.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Finer studied screenwriting in Los Angeles and ran her own script editing business. She transitioned into healthcare after helping care for her father, an experience that solidified her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Outside of work, she enjoys running, cycling, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
