I like that Dr. Heiman is very knowledgeable and shares pertinent information with me as the patient. After my follow-up, I feel like I thoroughly understand my diagnosis and what I can do about it and what works to help it and what may not. The office staff is friendly and seem to enjoy working with the doctors and patients. My procedure (endoscopy) went well and was relatively easy. The follow-up information I received immediately after the procedure was informative. The follow-up visit was also very informative and helpful. In July of 2018, my primary physician noticed high liver enzyme levels in my blood. After several additional blood tests, it was determined that I had Hepatitis C. I was then referred to Dr. David Heiman. Horrified, I then got online and researched the virus and costs involved. The drug costs were ridiculously high. So now I'm paranoid of costs and going to a doctor I never met and knew nothing about. I arrived at the office and was greeted by a friendly and efficient staff. After 15 minutes I was in the examination room. My vitals were taken and the doctor came in and did his routine on me. While reviewing my history on the computer, asking questions, entering data and at the same time explaining my condition and a plan of action. He was so professional and knowledgeable, that I was so comfortable and confident that I would be getting the best treatment and results from that office. I told him I researched the prescription prices online and they were like 70,000 dollars for 12 weeks worth. He then explained how that worked and to not worry about it. Also he suggested a colonoscopy. So now I have to go see another stranger? He said, "No, I do those as well." To make a long story short, I walked out of his office at peace and very comfortable. That was 2 months ago and everything he told me has come to fruition. The medication cost me $5.00 (co-pay) and my liver levels are now normal. I am on the way to full recovery.
