Dr. Heisy Asusta is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, specializing in obstetrics, gynecology, family planning, female reproductive health, high-risk pregnancies, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She brings experience from her eight years as a U.S. Air Force Medical Corps officer, where she served as medical director at Nellis Air Force Base and contributed to key initiatives in obstetrics and gynecology, including leading the implementation of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocol.
Dr. Asusta earned her bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s in public health (MPH), and her medical degree from the University of Miami. She completed her OB/GYN residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium, where she was recognized for her work in minimally invasive gynecology and gynecologic oncology.
A fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Asusta has a background in medical education, having served as assistant professor and clerkship site director at the Uniformed Services University and as community faculty at the University of Nevada Las Vegas OB/GYN residency program. In 2024, she received the national “Excellence in Teaching Award” from the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
