Our experienced team of surgical oncologists are equipped to do what it takes to get you healthy and set your mind at ease. Sometimes that could require a lumpectomy. A lumpectomy is a type of breast cancer surgery where only the tumor and a small amount of surrounding tissue is removed. This procedure is a form of breast-sparing surgery most commonly recommended for patients with early-stage cancer. Because this is a less invasive surgery than other procedures, such as a mastectomy, the recovery time tends to be shorter and easier after a lumpectomy.
